Lavender House was established by Michael and his wife Simone as they identified a need for ethical, organic care for individuals with special needs on the Sunshine Coast. After many months of research, they committed to opening their respite in an apartment at Golden Beach. Access to the beach, cycle paths, parks, shops and local medical centres ensures this location suits all individual needs.
At Lavender House we believe in quality care, tailored to individual needs. This is achieved through regular discussions between Lavender House staff and the guest family or carers to manage individual goals and achieve their potential through independence and inclusion. Lavender House offers a maximum ratio of one carer to two guests in respite care in our Sunshine Coast premises.
Lavender House is a respite care service for individuals with special needs who rely on daily support to help them reach their goals due to their disability. Lavender House offers families and carers the rare opportunity to have a break from their important and demanding role of caring for an individual, while knowing that the person they care for is with a skilled, experienced and qualified staff member with whom they have a familiar relationship.
Lavender House aims to support individuals with special needs to exceed their goals and make courageous choices that allow opportunities for inclusion.
By providing valued services that support individuals with special needs and their families, Lavender House Respite Care will increase its capacity to enhance opportunities for current and future guests.
Starting from one night, Lavender House will provide safe and comfortable housing for loved ones with special needs. Healthy meals, goal-orientated activities and experienced familiar support staff will cater to individual requirements to ensure guests and carers needs are gratified.
Permanent care for loved ones with special needs can be provided by experienced and familiar support staff. With open communication, Lavender House Respite Care will ensure individual and carer needs are exceeded.
Catering to busy parent and carer schedules, out of school hours programs are offered to individuals and groups with special needs on the Sunshine Coast. These are designed to meet individual goals and are supported by trained, experience familiar support workers.
